Salisbury Sketchers visit to the Salisbury Museum
Sunday 16 March 2025
Salisbury Sketchers paid a return visit to Salisbury Museum. This time we were restricted to the ground floor galleries due to a gathering of dignitaries upstairs. It was quite a sight to see them dressed in full processional regalia and actually it would have been a great drawing exercise! Most of us settled down to draw in the Wessex gallery that houses many local archeological finds, though one member decided to depict the wonderful old Scout car overlooked by the Salisbury Giant.
We ended the afternoon with a sociable chat over tea in the cafe. Another enjoyable occasion at the Museum.
Later in the year the museum will be holding an open exhibition of landscapes to which all artists are invited to submit their work. Details can be found on their website. I hope SGA members will consider entering their artwork.
Next month on the afternoon of Sunday, April 13th, the Sketchers will be meeting at St Anne's Gate in St John's Street.
